The Freycinet Retreat, has taken out the title for best hotel in the Tasmania, after winning the HotelsCombined Recognition of Excellence Awards 2017.
The Recognition of Excellence Awards is an annual award announced in the first quarter of every year, with 2017 its inaugural year.
Chris Rivett, Head of Marketing for HotelsCombined Australia and New Zealand said the awards celebrate the very best hotels for exemplary customer service across Australia.
“We are proud to name The Freycinet Retreat, one of Coles Bay’s best-loved accommodation options, with the title of top independent hotel in Tasmania,” said Mr Rivett.
“While the Freycinet Retreat is located in Coles Bay, one of Australia’s most popular holiday destinations, it’s surprising to see it beat some of the bigger hotels in Hobart, suggesting good customer service is not limited to our large cities.”
Retreat owners, Virginia Cowie and Phillippa denne were delighted their business had been recognised with the new award.
“We have worked hard to set and maintain a high standard, so it is wonderful to know that this has been appreciated by guests,” they said.
Finalists and winners are representative of the highest standards in the industry, averaging 9.7 out of a possible 10 points, compared to the industry standard of 7.2, placing them within the top three per cent of hotels worldwide.
