The world renowned Spiegeltent is getting set to thrill Tasmanian audiences for the second year running, featured as part of the much anticipated 2015 Tasmanian International Arts Festival (formerly Ten Days on the Island) next month.
Artistic Director David Malacari said the travelling entertainment salon, presented by Ten Days in association with Strut & Fret Production House, was a smash hit with Tasmanian crowds last year and offered many opportunities for businesses to host corporate hospitality events, networking functions and team building outings.
“The Spiegeltent is a world renowned spectacle and will play host to a range of international, national and Tasmanian performers, showcasing a unique line-up of comedy, cabaret, circus, music, family, and acrobatic performances,” Mr Malacari said.
“There’s something for everyone and any occasion, and Spiegeltent bookings are currently being taken for groups which offers the perfect opportunity for businesses to plan their next social event.
“Headlining the Spiegeltent program as part of the Tasmanian International Arts Festival is circus extravaganza, Beyond.
“Beyond is a must-see Spiegeltent event, with world-class performers and uncanny visualisation, this circus performance will be the talking-point among audiences for weeks to come.
“The Spiegeltent season runs from 5-29 March, offering 25 days of dazzling entertainment and fun for all ages.”
Mr Malacari said Ten Days continued to deliver economic benefits to many industry sectors in the state.
“It’s an important employer, industry training provider and a key component of the Tasmanian brand and the cultural tourism sector,” he said.
“A KPMG Economic Impact Statement revealed the 2013 festival injected an economic benefit to the community of some $27.25 million for an investment of just under $2.5 million – generating a return of $10 for every public dollar and supporting 87 Tasmanian jobs.
“Ten Days’ 2015 festival will not only inspire audiences across Tasmania by providing great arts experiences that Tasmanians deserve; it will also continue to demonstrate the creativity and vibrancy of Tasmania’s artists to the world as well as supporting our artists and cultural sector in Tasmania.”
