Small businesses to benefit from new marketing grants

Hobart Ciry Mt Wellington Tom Wakefield

The City of Hobart has launched two new marketing grants for businesses opening in August.

The Shopfront Improvement Grant provides matched funding of up to $5000 for store owners and tenants to creatively improve their shopfront.

The grant is based on a successful program already run interstate which encourages improved streetscapes as well as attracting more customers.

Applications that propose innovative and unique ways to improve shopfronts are desirable.

The Local Trader Marketing Grant of $5000 is an opportunity for groups of five or more businesses to attract customers to their local area.

The application may be for an event or advertising/marketing initiatives that drive awareness and visitation to their area. Applications are strongly encouraged that seek to activate under-utilised spaces and promote events outside of traditional trading times.

Grants open August 12, 2017 and close 5pm September 11, 2017.
