Hobart eateries can bridge the gap between reduced expendable income and the increased cost of food service by striking a balance that appeals to the lunch crowd.

That is the strategy for Hobart’s newest sandwich deli, Happy Larry, which strives to celebrate fresh Tasmanian produce and intertwine multicultural culinary inspirations, without breaking the bank.

It adds another option to the city’s wide variety of quick and easy daytime eating options.

Happy Larry is an idea born from a love of good food and classic sandwiches.

Co-founders Varun Khetarpal and partner Mayank travelled from state to state collecting inspiration for their colourful and adventurous food offerings.

Sourcing their produce and baked goods from local businesses like Six Russell Bakes, Mr Khetarpal said they wanted to offer something special to the people of Hobart that was affordable and would reflect passion and creativity on the plate.

An avocado and egg sandwich for breakfast and a bolognese sandwich and strawberry macha for lunch are some of the treats on the menu.

Mr Khetarpal said he is excited to keep developing the menu using seasonal produce to provide sandwich lovers with an ever-changing choice of fresh, quality foods.
